What this site records about visits.
This is a personal website. It keeps a small amount of visit data to understand which pages are read and to protect the site from abuse. It does not use advertising, tracking cookies, or third-party analytics.
01What is recorded
- The page you opened and, on arrival, the website that linked to it (domain only).
- Approximate location (country and city) derived from your IP address by the hosting provider.
- Device type, browser, and operating system, derived from your browser's User-Agent.
- Your IP address, stored for security review only.
- An anonymous daily visitor ID: a one-way hash of your IP address, User-Agent, and a random value that changes every day and is then deleted. It lets the site count unique visitors per day without being able to identify you.
02What is not recorded
- No cookies are set for visitors, and nothing is stored on your device for analytics.
- No names, emails, or form data, and no cross-site tracking.
- Visits from known crawlers and automated tools are discarded.
03How long it is kept
- IP addresses are deleted after 30 days.
- The remaining, non-identifying visit statistics are deleted after 13 months.
- Daily random values are deleted once the day ends.
04Why, and who sees it
- Purpose: understanding how the site is used and keeping it secure (legitimate interest).
- Only the site owner can see this data, through a sign-in protected dashboard. It is stored with the hosting and database providers (Vercel and Neon) and is not sold or shared.
05Your rights
- You can ask what data relates to you, or ask for it to be deleted, by emailing herunhai@outlook.com.
